Properties / Main use conditions
CAUTION : TITANIUM AND ITS ALLOYS ARE PYROPHORIC, SO IT IS CONVENIENT NOT TO STORE FINE WASTES (POWDERS, FILINGS, COUNTERSINKS OR CHIPS OF TURNING), IN CASE OF FIRE, ABSOLUTELY AVOID WATER AND USE EXCLUSIVELY WELL DRY SAND.
Standard alloy for all sorts of kniding (forging, rolling, etc…) able to suffer heat treatments with limited results. The addition of aluminium and vanadium brings high mechanical characteristics. The temperature for use is below 450°C.
Typical application in aeronautics and aerospatial, cells and engines for planes, disks, blades, flanges, tanks for satellites, compressors, connecting rods for cars.
