Forging conditions
Like titanium, zirconium and its alloys have two allotropic varieties. Consequently forging temperatures are in accordance with results to be obtained. In any case, please contact us.
Properties / Main use conditions
CAUTION : ZIRCONIUM AND ITS ALLOYS ARE PYROPHORIC, SO IT IS CONVENIENT NOT TO STORE FINE WASTES (POWDERS, FILINGS, COUNTERSINKS OR CHIPS OF TURNING), IN CASE OF FIRE, ABSOLUTELY AVOID WATER AND USE EXCLUSIVELY WELL DRY SAND.
At the beginning, the alloy was for nuclear uses, due to its transparency to electro-magnetic rays. Then, due to its mechanical values, higher than 702, it has been used for chemical industry, like 702, when temperatures or pressures are higher.
