Forging conditions
Forging is made at a range of temperature included between 1150 and 950°C, then cooled at appropriate conditions for the final thermal treatment and obtain required characteristics. In any case, please contact us.
Properties / Main use conditions
Immunity from cracking on stress caused by chlorides. Excellent resistance to alkaline or neutral salts, expecially sea water. Resistance to corrosion in existence of diluted mineral acids (HCI, H2SO4, HF…) and their derived, in anaerobic atmosphere. A specific treatment can be made when used in wet HF vapours, or mercury vapours. Good strength in a large temperature range, it is used until 550°C, but this temperature is restricted to 425°C by VdTÜV, and 480°C by ASME for pressure equipments.
Main applications
Evaporators and cristallizers in equipments for sea water desalination. Plating for exposed to sea water areas on petroleum platforms. Uranium enrichment by wet way. Pumps, gates and cocks for hydrocarbon treatments in existence of chlorides or sea water. Factories making alkylation of hydrochloric and sulfuric acids. Production of salt.
